The 61st edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano took place from 18 to 23 April 2023. Milano Bedding presented the new cooperation with the French designer Christophe Pillet.
This year the Salone del Mobile has renewed its format by focusing on making the visit to the fair more practical, now on one level, also to make the most of all the exhibitors, who were 1.962. With 307.418 visitors, after years of hesitation, the fair confirms itself as a point of reference in the world of design and returns to pre-pandemic numbers; there is also the return of the foreign public with 65% of buyers and operators from foreign countries (China in the front row, followed by Germany, France, United States, Spain, Brazil and India).
Like the event and the exhibitors, Milano Bedding has enthusiastically continued its path of investing in quality and the will to produce innovation, to offer new experiences of comfort and functionality.
Thus, the company team also welcomed visitors from all over the world, especially from Europe, presenting them with its own concept of functional comfort: the sofa bed, like the convertible armchair, are no longer mere “tools” for add sleeping places, but they are real heroes of the environment.
Among the trends of this Design Week we find multifunctional and modular furnishings suitable for different needs and spaces; a growing trend for these elements, dedicated to optimizing domestic space. The keywords of the future are therefore those that best define Milano Bedding and its sofa beds, namely, versatility and flexibility.
In an elegant and welcoming space of 140 square meters made up of different areas that recreate welcoming living areas, all defined by colored walls and accessories in shades of aubergine, the latest models of Milano Bedding sofas such as Clarke, Freddie, Vivien, Mingus, Jarreau, the modular Goodman and, in the foreground, the 2023 Marsalis novelty.
Therefore the new collection of convertible sofas that Milano Bedding has created in collaboration with the French designer Christophe Pillet is the hero.
Minimal and cozy, Marsalis combines class and functionality, ensuring great seating comfort and hiding, in the convertible versions, a bed with a 200cm long mattress, for perfect rest. The structure that contains the bed has been, in this model, further reduced, becoming thinner, to make it stylistically light. This was possible thanks to Milano Bedding‘s experience, Lampolet’s avant-garde mechanisms and the aesthetic style given to this model by Christophe Pillet.
At the fair Marsalis was presented as a two-seater sofa bed, with brown leather frame and seat and backrest in cream fabric, 16 cm high feet in black nickel finish, and in the three-seater convertible sofa version entirely in a cream fabric .
“Marsalis is a sofa and sofa bed collection designed to fit discreetly, but also with class and personality in the residential and hotel world. Simple, light, comfortable and “airy”, in the sofa bed version the model furnishes without taking up space and naturally conceals its transformability“.

Comfort for Milano Bedding is not guaranteed only by the technological and design choices of its models, but also by the materials and options proposed. At the Salone del Mobile 2023, the Pocket Topper sofa bed mattress, with built-in topper, was also presented on the Clarke.
18 cm thick, Pocket Topper is made with independent springs, each contained in a bag of hypoallergenic material, in order to create a differentiated compression based on the weight and shape of the body. Its 4 cm topper is fixed above the mattress and consists of a padded layer with super soft foam, to give maximum comfort. A solution that will certainly be appreciated both in the hotel and residential markets.
For Milano Bedding this edition of the Salone del Mobile.Milano therefore ended with great satisfaction both in terms of the number of visitors, which exceeded that of 2021, and for the strategic position in hall 5, in the company of brands that are unmistakable heroes of the Made in Italy.
The appointment with the design week, the Salone del Mobile.Milano and Milano Bedding is therefore already scheduled for next year, from 13th to 18th of April 2024!
